for everyday driving the auto should be fine :) now if you are drag racing... you should upgrade the trans/torque converter. i personally have had great experiences with the a340e on mkiii's and mkiv's
i'd use the one on the front clip or another used one.... thats what i did and no problems here;; a few years ago i replaced a different one through toyota and it just cost wayy too much :x
if the needle is all the way down and it doesnt read boost you have a vac leak somewhere... mine did that when vac hoses were unplugged (the one on my cruise control was the trouble one actually..)
now if the sensor isnt working or if its unplugged the needle will be up all the time...
and...
looking good so far! careful when putting the exhaust manifold on.... PITA :( i had a trans blow up on me... my oil was blacker than yours hehe and it smelled... horrid...
i have an oil leak right now, your symptoms seem very similar to mine. I sent my car to toyota to find my leak though Lol. rear main seal and cam cover seals. i went from dino to syn and im 80% sure thats what did it, always 10w30
ive had 0 squeek as well and i used the supplied grease (or it was the grease from the ST swaybar kit, either way poly bushing all around and no squeeks :) and its been almost 2 years )
i hear ya on that one.... i like my car because everyone else around here has a honda or a nissan... and i dont like either that much. :) and ive always loved toyota so this is my car of choice since its rare to see a nice one around here :)
i think you'll need 1jz bellhousing. as well as a 1jz flywheel. or what someone wrote as 'order a 7m flywheel and have 2j pattern drilled into it'. someone correct me if im wrong :):)
the mass airs from what i recall look like our non turbo's. i wouldnt see any gain as they are for a 3.0 liter and ours are 3.0.... the 1uz is 4.0 and v8... why bother :P
i just used the one the kit comes with, been about 2 years now. one problem i have had is that i cant remove the rubber from the metal ones lol :) hacksaw will be handy when i switch to manual
in my opinion 19's look nasty. 18's fit Juuuuust right. unless you want bling bling wheels. or are one of the guys that always say "why don't you just slam your car to the ground?"
