Not if done properly. Material is usually removed from the mounting surface of the cap to close them in a bit, then align honed to make them round.
This is all assuming the shop knows WTF they're doing, and considering they cracked a cam cap...
You can (GENTLY) wipe the post clean. If you want to clean the housing, remove the sensor and use whatever you want. Just don't screw up the honeycomb.
Without a way to rotate a bit (the heim joints give that) you get the failure you had happen. I still wouldn't run heim joints on a street car which is why wes is looking into poly ends.
Two cheap e-fans tacked to a radiator isn't going to outflow the stock setup...
Not to mention that link isn't true measured numbers, only estimates based on fan design (e-fans usually don't perform as well as they say, especially under load).
Sounds like they're ripping you off, mine was cheap.
And as I've already said, those fans being tacked to the radiator are going to SUCK. It needs a shroud and it needs to space them away from the radiator a bit. THose style fans are usually used a condenser fans or helper fans, NOT main...
