FYI 5500 RPMs in 5th gear with your year, tranny, and diff is almost 140 MPH with stock sized tires. Coast just 10 blocks? I don't buy it.

How in the hell to you just coast 10 blocks from going 5500 RPMs in 5th gear? And you left us hanging by not telling us what the problem was...

Torque you head bolts to 76 ft/lbs. and you should be fine if the gasket is still in good shape and you back off the boost some.

While you're searching for them, take the hose to your local parts store, ask them if you can step in the back and find the closest match as possible to them. You may get lucky, and they should be cheaper, just make sure the hoses you are looking at are rated for coolant.

I wouldn't recomend using silicone hoses to hold coolant (besides the one one going to the overflow) unless they were reinforced.
