lol...wow. two people with almost identical posts.
----EDIT------
sooooo...seeing as how people have thrown these suckers away, does anyone want to give me one? i'll pay shipping... :p
i bet it helps a lot with cooling. i'm missing all my shrouds and i with i had them. i actually might talk to my dad about bidding on that sucker...
i do not see anything that could do much damage to the underside of the engine bay coming from the car itself. i can see it helping with debris...
lol...ok that title is a bit oxymoron, but it makes sence once you know what i'm asking about;
After reading up a bit on heater cores, and their various methods of heating air, i was wondering if someone can tell me how ours work, specifically.
I was wondering because I wanted to make...
either way, if you dont take a moment to think about which way its going to spin you could really f-up your car. seems like a silly thing to do, but i read a post on here once about that very thing happening.
BTW...kinda a useless question, but does anyone know how much torque this method...
cam journals? what's that? the cam "bearings" or something else? i cant think of anything else to plastigauge.
is this a TSRM measurment? you've checked that right?
he told me he located a tranny with 50k miles on it for 75 dollars, plus around 80 for shipping.
if thats true.....
i dunno. its just finding time. i dont really have much at all. :icon_conf
thats the kind of thing i was wondering about.
it could be something that simple, could it not? ijust need to find someone that knows this setup well enough to shed some light.
maybe someone on toyotanation will know. i habitually posted here because i like it here so much. maybe wasnt...
allright, i think I will. thanks.
If this makes any immidiate difference or any "oh thats a simple fix!" lightbulbs go off;
He told me the mechanic went as far as to find out it was a problem with the transmission, nothing further. the noise is in all 5 gears.
He says hes not a mechanic...
my god what have i done.
lol...jk
i did not expect to see such...enthusiasm...in this discussion. obviously the debate going on in my head goes on elsewhere. thanks guys. i will try and read it tomorrow when i'm awake. for now, its just too much. lol!
well, i have pleanty of tools, no lift, but jackstands... thats kinda iffy. not sure. One thing he said about it is "it has started making a lot of noise. It needs to be replaced or repaired."
the main, HUGE issue with me picking this car up would be having time to fix it, and then making...
There's this toyota camry for sale near me that is only 350 bux...
apparently the only thing wrong with the seemingly nice looking car is the transmisison, its a 5 speed, makes funny noises and the seller states it will need repair or replacement.
Worst case scenario, how hard could that...
are you referring to the rubber gasket that slips around the metal of the thermostat? or is this a seal between the two pieces that surround the thermostat that bolt together?
I have a rubber seal around the thermostat that i felt had enough pressure against the metal to seal fine. i...
hmm. ok... well i think i will leave it. since they have been heated more than enough... thanks guys. if i have time and feel like it i might, but i have a feeling i'd have more risk breaking a bolt... and im still better off than if i had taken it to a toyota shop and had them do it once...
i'm pretty sure i've passed the mentioned 500-mile re-torque after a BHG rebuild and i wanted to check on the necessity of retorquing and what experiances others have had with finding loose bolts and whatnot. i'm just wondering why the 500-mile retorque theory exists, because if i took the car...
