After further investigation the 9473PT is NOT an MLS. In that light, I will be going with a Cometic. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. I'm planning to go with this FelPro metal head gasket, provided they don't have to shave to much off the head. Looks like I may be the first here...

How about a crappy timing light :icon_idea I did do some work on the cps connector wires. Then went to check the timing. The light wouldn't work. I saw it flicker a couple of times, then nothing. I ran up to AutoZone to pick up a new one. My timing mark is not jumping around like it was.

Sounds like the one for the charcoal canister. Either get a new one or cap it off at the throttle body and get a vented gas cap. #2 on this pic?

I'm glad this came up again. I figured out what caused the remaining play in my pedal. The stop was bent down near flat and caused it not to rest in the proper place.

then it's the 12v line either it's not getting there or the rivet on the 12v connection is causing your problems

does it work with the individual buttons? if not then it's your 12v line that has the problem. The buttons provide a direct ground on the assembly screwed into the roof. The ground on the harness connector is provided by the door switch.

Yeah, a couple times it wouldn't start. Wiggle that connector and it fires right up. I'll fix that and see if the timing mark settles down.

I'm sure jumper had good contact. I'll look into the idler. No codes. I've done the tsrm adjustments on the TPS and it seems ok. Would CPS affect this? I need to rewire the connector anyway. I sometimes get a code 12.

When I check my timing, with the diag block jumpered, the mark jumps around 10° erratically. It has, about, a 6° swing window, maybe 5°, it's not marked in single increments. When I remove the jumper, it advances to ~12° but with the same amount of swing, jumping, fluctuating, bouncing,... In...

does your dome light work when using the individual buttons on the dome light? (when fully installed) if so you are getting 12v there (vanity light working indicates 12v getting there) and the buttons provide direct ground. now; with the door open and the assembly connected - wiggle, move...
