Well, since you got the oilpan off, why not replace the rod bearings before you get knocky knock music? I blame the BHG for the bad bearings, but assuming you did do a good job on the repair, replaced the rod bearings. You'll be good for another million years, or atleast you'll buy yourself...

If your getting thumbs up, then your definetly getting charge. Think to yourself, Are you sure its a charging issue? Have you checked your battery lately? The connectors can go bad too. I dunno, my 2cents.
