This is a great way to make a supra way more reliable. It wont be as fun though. I would have gone this route myself but after I was in a high hp supra i fell on love. People should always try new things to be unique and as long as your satisfied with the results, who cares what others say or think.

Hx35 all the way, with external wastegate of course. Im finishing my project in the next few weeks. Had a lot of problems fitting the turbo though. There wasn't enough room for the adapter for the external wastegate and the turbo it kept hitting the strut tower but finally got it to work...

Yeah It is a great turbo if my flanges get finished (hint hint John) mine should be done in the next couple of weeks. I got mine for free my dad had it around his shop not too many miles on it. Free sounds like a good price.

I use laundry soap, the powder stuff. I tried it once when i had no hand cleaner it worked well but felt weird like it wouldn't wash off.

Take your gte rods to a reputable machine shop they should be able to resize your rods for a good price. When they resize the rod they take it back down to std. size no oversized bearing is needed. Only when they machine the crank do you need oversized bearings. I did this recently came out...

I must admit it i did reuse the gasket on my second engine. Was not worth reusing. I think thats the reason it blew.
