What can I say..... I'm still in love with my N/A after 10+ years. In the past 4 months I've seen exactly 2 mkiii's, and one was broken down. This car will give you back what you put into it.
Careful on the driver side. My window lock spring popped out before I even had a chance to see how it went back in. Luckilly I never need to lock my windows :).
It sounds like the starter selonoid died.
I just replaced my starter because my selonoid went out. When i put in the new starter I couldn't get it to turn over. It didn't even click like before. I thought perhaps my factory alarm was possibly part of the problem (have had issues in the...
If you put the distributor in on the wrong tooth, it'll probably still start, but you it will be obvious that it is off a tooth when you try to time it with the timing light. You just won't be able to get it @ 10 BTDC.
I basically was in the same boat you were in. I waited till i had the...
I did actually. I ran the car on the freeway in 4th gear at about 70mph (4krpm) for about 10-15 mi, but then i had to wait about 10 minutes before a test bay was available.
I just passed smog with my 86.5 supra. I would have failed the first attempt but the attendant said he'd try again (commenting that a lot of older cars fail on their first run). I did pass on the second attempt but my hydrocabon levels were pretty dang high.

The reason I mentioned this is because when i was going to retorque my headbolts after a BHG job, I noticed I had some coolant in my #4 spark plug wells. Not much but enough to notice, and it was only in that one spot. I'm guessing that when I removed the hose, I had a little spillage.
But...
I just retorqued mine. Its really a pretty simple and fairly quick procedure. Especially since you should be familiar with the car by doing a head gasket job. I must say that the crack sound when loosening a head bolt was a pretty scary sound when I first heard it. I thought i broke a socket!
I was given dads n/a mk3 just before going to college about 12 years ago when he got his NSX. She has been super reliable and finally blew a head gasket at 155k. I just finished putting her back together with a head rebuild and she is purring once again. I was kind of neglecting her since I...
When I was putting things back together from a BHG, I noticed this hose was rock hard and just waiting to crack. Trouble is, I don't know what its called to find a new one to replace it.

Been a while since my strength of materials class...
What hardness scale .. Brinell, Rockwell? And what results should I expect. I'd rather sound stupid here than when I'm asking a vendor :)
