    Another Helicoil question thread

They are called timecerts. I can't seem to find any info online, but I've used them and the tech behind them is very good, being a solid, semi press fit piece as apposed to a wound wire like setup that the helicoil uses. For this application with the relatively low torque being put on them...

why do people buy cheep intercoolers ?

Tube and fin generally don't flow as well, but cool the charge more efficently when compared to a bar and plate of the same dimensions.

    greddy td06

You *should* be able to make it work. The kit did come with one aluminum elbow, but I think you can get away without it. I've installed this kit before and i found the elbow they provided to be worse than the stock setup. GL -Tim

    #4 main bearing cap "stuck"

Well since number 4 has the thrust washers, I find a piece of wood and a light hammer, tapping on both ends of the cap lightly helpes to free it. Then use the method mentioned above to finish the job.

EGT Temps: What is Normal/ What is too high?

Well 10 degrees btdc is stock, yah. Like others have said, every engine is different .So you can't really shoot for a number, per say.. People who have control over timing either have some form of standalone or a piggyback capable of timing adjustments ie. e-manage, maft pro, etc.. But that...

EGT Temps: What is Normal/ What is too high?

So basically to keep egt's in a suitable range. Run the highest octane pump gas you have available to you, keep exaust backpressure to a minimum, tune for safe afr's(debatable, but low to mid 11:1's imho) and run only as much boost as the pump gas will safely and reliably allow. So if you only...

    Suspension Help Needed!

The kyb shocks do that on the rear in our cars. You need to add an extra washer or two under the top nut that goes through the shock tower. The hole that is in the tower is not completely round and will only let the top piece of the shock rod up through in one direction, if you over torque it...

    T3/T04E Turbo application...

Hard to say, most likely it's a .48 if it was purchased for a 4 cyl setup in the first place.

    Maft fco bypass function issues

So Grim you are running 440's as well? I started tuning fco out as well, but it's hard to datalog well when you're smacking fuel cut => I'm sure I can work around it for the time being though. So by the reflash comment you made, do you mean that our current version does not support the fco...

    Maft fco bypass function issues

I"m having trouble with the hz clamp feature on my maft setup. My applicable mods are: maft w/new 3" sensor in draw through mode, 1jz i/c w/2.25 hardpipes, full 3" exhaust, boostvalve.com mbc, rebuilt 440's, stock ct and an auto with valve body work (boost spikes on gear change, which is why I...
