Stock turbo pistons in N/A block?

shouldn't matter what casting number the rods are so long as you balance the rotating assembly. this is provided that the big and small end diameters and the center to center are the same, which I'm 99% sure they are. I can't see toyota bothering to make 2 different parts for the same engine.

    Piston Slap (what is it?)

Forged pistons are known for piston slap because the forged metal has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion, and as such "grows" more, therefor must start off smaller. This means that there's a higher piston clearance (a bigger difference in the outside diameter of the piston, and the inside...

Friend ran from the cops today...

ya there's ALOT of cases of police brutality, town my mom lives in has the highest rate of unsolved crimes per capita in the country, and also the highest rate of traffic tickets per capita. There's murders and robberies to investigate, not to mention fraud etc. Thing is tho that that can't be...

Friend ran from the cops today...

he pulled a gap on the first cop, the one behind him, then a second one picked him up up the road, but evidently the first couldn't make a positive ID on the car, so they got him for speeding and probably a buncha fix-it tickets, but if he got out of visual from the first cop and they didn't...

    Mustangs... Arg...

ya, that's the truth. there's alotta bad information gets passed around tho, 'cause everyone tends to have foolish pride about the car that THEY own, I mean the V8 guys are always talking about how much torque they have, as tho they'd never heard of the concept of 2 gears spinning each other...

    Mustangs... Arg...

yea I agree with ya stanzaspeed, average mustang owner isn't the cleverest character, there's some good ones tho. that sad, average supra owner isn't too bright either. "I got mad b0000st yo"

    Holset turbo on 1jz?

realistically if the holset is ANYWHERE NEAR the garret, it's a bloody massive disgrace for both RIC and garret. either way it'll be nice to have some solid numbers to put next to this and end the stupid "my dick is bigger than yours" war.

    fuel tank dimensions

anybody have a fuel tank out and they can measure it for me? or the cavity it's in. Mine just developed a slow leak, I'm gonna try to patch it with a cold weld over the weekend, but if I can't I'll end up having to make a cell for it I think. not a big deal I guess, nothing wrong with forced...

    underbody tray

shouldn't be to tough to make a bunch, given the right tooling, once you have a pattern, I think it's more or less flat, should just be able to cut the sucker. Fiberglass would be fastest and easiest (and lightest). I dunno about dropping it on speed bumps, I don't touch my front lip on...

    1jz tourqe and diff selection

285 lbft at 4000rpm isn't exactly a torque monster motor.

Gonna try this: Urethane foam for targa chassis - advice?

hmmmm, I think that 8lbs would be ok, but thing is that once it's in, it's in, there's no upgrading it later. so with that in mind I'd probably go with the 16lb. I guess it depends entirely on whether it's about weight or appearance.

    The mk3 of jet fighters

errr, I totally forgot I posted here. by the end there I think the tomcat was basicly just a naval platform for the AIM 154 wasn't it? I don't think that plane was ever expected to go into a knifefight and make it out in 1 piece.

Gonna try this: Urethane foam for targa chassis - advice?

72000lbs support for the sides supports, with the 8lbs, 167000 or so with the 16lbs. for the center you're looking at about 40.5k psi with the 8lbs, and 94k or so with the 16lbs stuff. strikes me that for the side walls, it's really valid, but for the floor brace, you'd be better off with a...
