No use, it's literally broken inside. Spring popped loose and several plastic bits cracked and/or disintegrated. Convieniantly though I do have a hardcopy fsm :) so adjusting a new one will be easy
Ok I figured it out and it is my TPS. Parts store peeps are telling me an 86.5 tps is different from a 87 tps, Is that true? Or can I use any pre 89 tps? Already checked the cressida tps cause I had one on hand, the mechanism is 90 degrees off from the supra tps so it's a no go. I really would...
Hey guys, I have a weird problem with my supra. After it gets to operating temp, it gets an occasional bout of sputtering and loss of power. The condition only occurs when cruising, never on acceleration or deceleration. I just checked the codes and I'm getting the constant blink "all is fine"...
Hey guy's took my car to get it aligned and the les shwab guy said it couldn't be done because the ears that hold the cam on the bolt were flared out. Heres a pick for reference, don't think it's a supra but it'll give an idea of what the hell I'm talking about:crazy1:
Any recommendations for...
Cheap and turbo kit go together like fire and getting burned. Like hvyman said, stock everything from a turbo car and replace what needs it with new parts. It will not be cheap.
Anything is possible but for 300hp out of a 7mge it's either na-t or more money than you could ever want to spend. If you want to stay NA check out AJ's car, but don't expect miracles without crazy amounts of cash and custom work. The 7mge is already pretty optimal as is.
I did the exact same thing to my 86.5 supra when i got it :). I swapped: engine mounts, oil pan/pump the entire upper intake and attached vacuum lines, almost all of the sensors (so they matched the wiring harness), the injectors, Ac bracket (slight difference on pre 89 don't know about post)...
Don't know where in spokane you are but the valley pull and save has a silver 87 supra with a couple decent moulding pieces left. I pulled the tranny and valve shims off it haha
I have a flowmaster and a test pipe and its loud and has the classic car rattle to it. My cat was plugged when I got the car, so I don't know how much power over stock it makes. I did test it without the cat-back and it was obnoxiously loud with no additional power gains over what i'm running...
I bought a junkyard W-58 yesterday for $55, cracked it open and discovered it was practically new. So today i swapped it out, slightly difficult to pull a tranny without the pulling the engine, but it all went smooth. It's nice being able to downshift to second without grinding :)
