I designed mine to go with the ABFlug sides and rears.. two lips should be produced if possible, one for use with other aero and one for use without.
The reasoning is pre89 owners basically only have a Bomex available, and it looks terrible without the rest of the kit IMO, and it's pretty...
I see where you're coming from.. the reason I went with my design rather than a JDM 89+ lip (w/ducts) design was because I feel that the majority of the pre89 lips available currently or in the past are conservative.
there's really only one way to go and that is OE Toyota coilpacks.. but you have no reason to replace or modify them if you car is running properly.
as far as how they work: http://www.aa1car.com/library/copign.htm (this is a much better explanation than I could give)
what weight oil are you running? those numbers seem awfully high.
I'm around 80psi cold, 40-50psi cruising, and ~20psi at idle.. I have checked and re-checked this in regards to others and have found these to be the proper pressures.
10w-40 1JZ.
we completely repositioned the piping after the subframe in order to remove some bends.. by doing so, the exhaust also ended up being angled up and more to the side. I actually just had a portion redone in order to get more ground clearance versus what I had from the beginning.
I've struggled with this quite a bit in the past as well.. thankfully, one out of the ten threads I'll look through will generally have the answer I'm looking for.
perhaps he's telling us that he enjoys reading about motors that spend more time off the road than on.. one's that we're designed when dinosaurs walked the earth, one's that enjoy BHG, rod knock, and overheating; perhaps a combo of all these things.
yay! :squint:
quality and fitment of the manifold would be my main concern..
I doubt numbers would be affected all the much, but perhaps they would in relation to turbulence etc.
my friend had mishimotos and kept overheating.. afterward, he went back to stock clutch fan and was fine.
he had FALs before the Mishimotos however, and apparently they were fantastic.
