That's to allow oil to drain away from the seal. Are you seeing high oil pressures? Any groves in the crank surface?

On a GTE 1 and 6 spark at the same time, so you can use either. 6 is easier to get to. Are you getting spark out of any of the coils? Did ya try the old "wiggle the CPS wires" trick?
