Anti size on the pistons? Dose that keep 1 and 6 alive?

I know those turbos have smaller shafts than most of the newer stuff, maybe that bigger wheel was to much. The crack around the compressor cover would lead me to believe that the wheel came off or got very lose first.

Duane I'm impressed, that is a no BS job you did on that turbo. So did the Compressor cover come loose and cause that or the wheel?

Thats funny I hear a white Supra from Canada was short a turbo half way home from the track a few weeks ago.
Looks like all the big talkers are going to have to step it up, I hear one supra coming just laid down 1300whp though a glide. Looking forward to hearing all the excuses after vagas.
Looking at putting togeather a track wheel and tire setup. I want to run 17x10 on all 4 with a 275-295 all round if possible. My fenders are rolled and pulled about 1/4in front and rear. I am looking at getting eather Toyo R888's or Kumho SX's. As far as wheels go looking for somthing light Enki...
With a free flowing 3.5in exhaust and a high flow Y pipe I would hit 19psi with no boost controler. It would then fall back off to about 17psi at red line.
You friend sounds right, fit an exhaust and see where it boosts too. If you do not have a FCD you maybe hitting fuel cut.

Well if you're WG is working right it should not overboost at all. With your set up right now it may very well. Nothing you can do but try it and see what happens.
Have you taken off the pipe that goes to the IC core from the turbo to make sure you do not have any obstructions?

I clean mine every oil change (2,000kms) if people are getting enough stuff in the filter to clog it then its kind of doing its job...no? This is like any other filter on your car it needs to cleaned and cheanged.

Oh man you have still not got this sorted out? I still think its somthing to do with flow intake or exhaust. Is there any chance you had a rag or somthing in the hot pipe from the turbo to the IC and forgot to take it out? if so it would now be in the end tank and would block or restrict flow. I...
I thought you checked for boost leaks already? Most boost leaks will not show at low boost unless you leave a clamp right off and even then it takes a few PSI to leak. If you have a cut intercooler hose that may do it, the only problem with that idea it the over boost you get before it falls...
