7M Block is better than 2JZ Block

Anytime. I also have one running around Bristol, Tn I built for a friend of mine that is at 450 rwhp/440 rwtq @ 16 and 510/470 rwtq @ 20 on about the same setup I had but with a stock intake manifold and a stock headgasket with the stock headbolts torqued down to 75 ft/lbs and has been doing so...

7M Block is better than 2JZ Block

I installed a new oil pump and kept all my clearances at .0015 on the rods and mains. I made sure every oil passage was open and everything was cleaned to within an inch of it's life. As Figgie stated above you can never pay to close attention to specs and detail. At 600 rpm warm it help 10 to...

7M Block is better than 2JZ Block

How long does it have to run for you to count it as reliable? Mine has over 10 dyno runs at 600 plus rwhp and still has 170 psi through all the cylinders and 15 to 20 psi of oil pressure at idle plus 40 psi at 2800 rpm. It has over 30 passes down the track and another 30 dyno runs at or over 500...

So, how about a titanium thrust washer?

Should be interesting to see what they have to say. Were you thinking of picking up gear lube from the drain hole and building some sort of distribution system on the top or could one drill and tap the case for 1/8th" NPT and run a series of number 4 JIC lines from a central manifold or...

So, how about a titanium thrust washer?

Thought about that but wasn't sure how many small 80W90 friendly pumps there were out there? We have some bigger pumps at work and there get pissed off about anything heavier than 15W40 oil. They are also bigger than you would want to mount in the car. I had also kicked around the idea of...

So, how about a titanium thrust washer?

The thrust washer in my first trans(the cars original) broke in half while running a high performance grease with what they reffered to as shock protection additives. It broke upon nailing the throttle in second gear at 4000 rpm. In all fairness to the transmission this was after roughly 30...

    Preferred clutch brand?

I gaurantee that there is some serious stress on the thrust bearing with the RPS PP. This is why I discontinue the use of clutch switch for starting, so there is no dry start up on the thrust bearing with excessive pressure against it.

    Preferred clutch brand?

I installed a ACT PP/ HPF bronze disc in a 91 I built and it is a very streetable combination. The ACT plate is a nicer daily driver plate but will still hold some serious power. The car I'm speaking of is tuned for 450 rwhp/440 rwtq @ 16 psi. The ACT set up was about 100.00 cheaper than the...

    Preferred clutch brand?

I run an RPS Maxx PP and HPF bronze disc and it has been a great clutch for what I have asked it to do. Very streetable in my opinion and has held 30 plus launches of 5500 rpm or better on drag radials and over 575 rwtq. I had a Spec stage III and it wouldn't hold 16 psi on my last turbo setup...

project 06 complete and thank you

I'm glad you are happy with it and thanks for the putting up with the long wait. You left someone out on the credits though, yourself for design and wiring. Sean

    Are turbo headers worth it?

The stock manifold will do fine for your ct26. Plenty of people have made good power on a stock manifold. Spend your money on other things.

    VPC-SAFC Fuel Cut Issue

I had a problem with two of the Stone Mountain/XS Power wastegate sticking on me due to poor machining. One stuck open and one stuck shut. The only HKS boost controllers I have had experience with is the HKS EVC EZ and the HKS EVC EZ II. On EZ II the instructions we got were backwards. We ended...

    VPC-SAFC Fuel Cut Issue

You also don't have to worry about tuning anything under 65 to 70% throttle. As long as you have a good O2 sensor on your car, I used one for a 88 5.0 Mustang, the ecu will keep it where it needs to be as far as the a/f's go. Mine cruised anywhere 14.5 to 15.5, and sometimes would hit 14.2 but...

    VPC-SAFC Fuel Cut Issue

Robert, I have run as much as 32 psi when I had my 67 mm turbo on the car with a VPC,AFC, and 680 cc injector combo and never hit fuel cut. I have another car I built that runs the same basic setup I had with the exception that he is on a stock headgasket still and pump gas boost psi is 16 and...

HKS short and long runner manifolds

I think Will Neely ran an HKS short style manifold before he went to an SP header and he did over 550 rwhp on it I think. I ran the HKS long runner and did around 640 rwhp and could have done more with more rpm and a better ignition.
