What I said in that first post was because you made changing oil sound like pulling teeth. It is your choice and I am not worried about it at all. To me its not about the $10 its knowing exactly what is going on with my car and knowing its done right.
You do most of your own work on your cars...
Kinda work like this: Every I buy a new car, that car comes with a filter I can't get off. New filter size = having to buy a new wrench. Between my two brothers and I we now have 3 strap wrenches and 3 filter sockets. None of those fit the filter! :icon_bigg
Ug. I had to use the screwdriver today and all it did was start to open the filter like a can opener. Then I remembered that I was not going to be using that engine anymore and it didn't matter!
If only that where true. Its kinda like "If common sense where truly common, everyone would have...
Its like slow motion because you are going slow. Real drifting is about going fast. Playing around on the streets in the rain "fishtailing" and "power sliding" is not drifting.
Sorry guys. I know I am not making friends right now, but seriously. Real drifting is about going fast and having...
Do it. Stick with your plans and get to the race track as often as you can. Try and do this stuff on the street and your gonna crash at some point. Or get arrested.
Don't know about where you live but here in CA its hard to even own and drive a modified car, let alone drive fast anywhere but...
The heavier the car the longer it takes to stop sliding. Ultimately that reduces the cars maneuverability.
Like I said earlier, the MKIII is not a bad choice, but if it where competitive you would see them in pro drifting. But you don't.
MKIIISupraMan18: An oil change has got to be the easiest and fastest basic mantainance you can do! Sounds to me like you are not too well equiped do be working on your car.
Personally, I love working on my car. Its very much a part of being a car/racing enthusiast for me.
Hahah
Like everyone else already said, oil filters should not be that tight. I won't let anyone work on my car unless it really is something I don't feel I can do myself. Damn grease monkeys I swear they set their air guns to 800lbs-ft and do the whole car that way. I only will take my...
SC300 is a great platform for drifting, and its a very different car from the MA70. It has a nice long wheel base and more modern suspension. The weight of the car does come into play though. Same with the big Chaser. They just don't have the same speed as the smaller, lighter weight S15s that...
If the MA70 Supra where a competitive car, you would see them in Formula D and D1 already. Of course you can drift it, but they are heavy cars. That is a major disadvantage in competition.
I voted clutch kick. I drift a 240.
Werd. As far as I can tell swapping the GE is the same as the GTE, but easier. There are a few less complications mostly just because of less "stuff" attached to the engine.
What else have you compared them too though? The 712s where great tires in the day. They had great grip and where cheap compared to other tires in the same class. Those days are about 6 years ago now, and there are much better tires on the market.
Do it! I nearly bought several MX-73s on different ocasions. I got lucky however and found an MX12 hahah thats right, the very first of the cars that would eventualy become Cressidas.
I am in the process of droping in a 7M-GE as well. Its fun!
