What? Are you just pulling this stuff out of your ass? These threads crack me up its the same stuff every time
Guy interested in drifting: What do I need to do?
Guy who knows something: advice
Everyone else: Drift is stupid. Its not racing. I don't get it. Ugly beat up Nissans.
Drift...
Not really actually. MX chassis are mostly front sump while Supras are mid. You have to modify the oil pickup tube and change the dipstick location ( just ask Mickyg! ). Also, the R154 doesn't fit too well in the tunnel, so you have to bang it out in a few spots. Then the clutch master cylinder...
Here are a few of my favs from back when I still had my battleship wheels.
My new fav is in my sig because it is a picture with my super kickass orange wheels!
My car is the black S14 with the orange rear wheels. Oh no. I spent all day spinning out. After two sessions out I switched to my Cooper tires and did a lot better. For some reason though I was bogging everytime I got to third gear! So I wasn't drifting the big bank which sucks. Oh well. Sort...
Ok so my camera ran out of batterys before anybody got the hang of the new track. Most of us started out on crappy practice tires not knowing just how slick the new track really is. So instead of having a bunch of good footage from later in the day, all I have is hella people spinning out. So I...
Yikes! That had to be scary. I wouldn't worry about the pump too much but definatly have a look at the pickup. If that is damaged then see of the pump looks damaged at all.
Ij: Thank you for the straight answer. Now I know I will wire in the fuse box and just deal with it. Its not that hard, it just would have been a lot easier with out it.
lagged: I have not made a mess of anything. I asked about it first becuase obviously I didn't understand. This is a forum...
Thanks for the advice! I was pretty sure that I don't need a fuel pump relay, I can wire that to ignition.
The thing with the EFI main relay is that if I don't need that, then I don't need any part of the fuse box. My quality of life would improve if I can just give the EFI harness 12v directly...
Yes I know thank you. Why can't I bypass that and give the harness power directly? If I could it will make my wiring job a lot easier.
This is a 7M into a car that used to be carburated if it helps you guys at all.
Can you tell me the function of the EFI main relay? I understand that it switches power to the harness, but why can't I just give it 12v from the ignition?
IJ: Thanks for the info. Sounds like I would have to take the transmission out and take it apart! I can live with the cut I made.
Supra90: the MX12 radiator is 20x20x3. Thanks for that search! I think I will try to fit a 22x19x2 or there about. Or just stick to the original dimensions
That is something else I was considering. Just taking the measurements and finding something high quality to handle the big 7M. I don't mind spending some extra cash to be sure the engine is running cool enough.
That is one factor that I was considering, is that if a new panel would have to be fabricated from scratch, I think the cost would be beyond me. That just seems like a huge amount of skilled labor to do something like that. So if it gets mostly straightened out with pulling and hammering and...
Exactly. I don't want a bunch of crappy bondo pasted on to my classic Toyota. I would prefer new metal as well, but I know next to nothing about what is required for this type of work. Thats why I want as many opinions as possible!
No damage to the trunk as far as I can tell. The tail light is actually fine, no cracks or any sign of damage. I do have an extra set though, they came with the car! I think the last owner bought them just in case when an opertunity came up. The badges seem fine too. I think they can be re-used...
