Just a little fuel to the fire

Castrol Superclean is discontinued, but it's far worse on eating aluminum, rubber, and...
Eh, everyone has opinions.

It's called Positive Crankcase Ventilation for a reason. It actually helps your rings seal.
It's not a TB bypass...
Venting the catch can will just cause excessive blow by, it's not about un metered...
Varying degrees of etching, but if his engine bay is that dirty, he's going to have to let it sit...
Oven cleaner is obviously the worst of the bunch (I've used it to degrease a driveshaft that I was going to repaint anyway, took EVERYTHING off). I'd say real Castrol Superclean is second worst...

The issue is that rust fills the gap between the holes in the elbow and the studs. Took a LOT of beating with a BFH to get mine loose. I also had the turbo off the car though.
Stock is platinum and they work fine ;)
I don't like changing my plugs so I tend to use platinums. Iridiums are a nightmare to gap (and yes they really should be gapped to work properly) and too expensive for what they really do IMHO.
