i run 7 qts, and i have an oil filter relocator running through a thermostat and bigger cooler, a ford v8 oil filter, and -8an lines all around. pressure at idle stays at ~25-35 psi, if im reading the stock gauge correctly
yes, it does support PWM :)
when you solder the MSII v3.0 board together, there are options you can solder in. For example, you can wire in either a Fast Idle Valve, PWM, or stepper style valve (our stock valve). You also have these options with ignition. You can have either Ford EDIS, GM HEI...
no im not, at least not yet. i havent decided if im going to use the stock valve (highly unlikely at this point, as i dont want to modify the MSII board more), a fast idle valve, or a coolant controlled idle control valve
it has just as much tunability (if not more) than aem, motec etc., etc. its just another EMS that not many on this forum have tried (if any)
so to answer your question, it depends on how well you can tune it. you could get whatever you want (with supporting mods)
nope, stock ECU is history, no need for it, MegaSquirt II is a full stand alone
ninja EDIT: also, IJ: thanks again for helping me with the ignition map!
GrimJack: I totally meant to say cost and hours. Everything you need (including wideband and EGT probe) was between $700-800. I put my car in our shop around thanksgiving, and got it running last weekend, but i only worked on it a few days during the week, so i would say it took about 40-48...
Right away, Pictures Here: http://www.freewebs.com/supraboost/gallery/megasquirt.htm
Sorry for the long post, but I figured people might want to know how to do this!
Well, I did it! I got a Megasquirt II v3.0 running on my car with EDIS-6 ignition. The project wasn’t all that hard, just...
IJ: i think in my case, i am estimating my theroetical VE at a point in time in the rpm/kpa (basically, it enrichens or enleans that point in the map). im still really learning about all of this tuning stuff, it is really new to me! i will be posting within the next few weeks though of my findings.
yeah that wont help much now, cause im MAP based now :evil2:
wow! thanks for posting up a few of your tables! that helps me tremendously see how the curve should sort of go. just out of curiosity, did you tune every single one of those points in the table, or did you just do a few in each...
thanks scott and ian, that really does help me a lot. im tuning my VE, AFR and ignition maps on a small dyno at the tech. college, which really helps a lot (and its free!).
one question still though, is there a way to manually adjust idle air on an 89+ TB?
thanks again!
im building an ignition map, and im trying to figure out how much advance i want in certain places. the map ranges from 700-7000 rpm and 20-210 kpa. i want to know how much advance i should run at idle and wot. currently, i have ~15* advance at idle and 36* advance at wot. is this right? also...
