Can I ask why you're boring the motor .040 over and not .020? If this is the first rebuild on this motor I dont see why you wouldnt just stick with .020 over.
Well, the car was $3500, and the 7mgte swap on it was roughly $3000, and now another $6500 for my rebuild, so thats...huh....$13k:3d_frown: And my wife reminds me everyday:rant:
Because coolant is constantly flowing, it has nothing to stop it, which is what the thermostat does....drive it like that in the winter and you wont be able to even warm the car up, and your heater will just blow cool air.
Welcome, cape carteret huh? I live in Havelock, if youre interested I can give you my number via pm and we can meet up sometime. Im always interested in meeting other mk3 owners, especially if theyre close.
Welcome, looks like you got a nice plan in mind. Theres a lot of good info on this forum, just use the search button and you'll be able to find just about anything. Any questions just ask!
Neither, Im having a performance shop assemble my motor because Ive never done one and I dont want to fuck it up. But Im going to be there through it all, so I can watch and learn how to do it, for future references. My motor will be back from the machine shop and paint really soon though.
