Right now it seems you're only certain of one thing... You're losing coolant. Get your coolant tested and BE SURE that you have a BHG. There's no sense in selling a car on the suspicion that it has a problem when it can be confirmed one way or the other so easily. If you DO end up having a BHG...
That's not to say it costs $3,500 to fix a BHG, op... It can be done much cheaper than this!! The process of replacing a BHG has been covered on here many times. Now's the time to learn from your mistakes and move forward! Don't lose hope!!
If you think you have a BHG, PARK IT. Get your coolant tested at a shop to see if you really do have a BHG and if so, don't drive it until you fix it! There's no sense in driving it and running the risk of f-ing up your rod and main bearings due to watery oil. If you have a BHG, buy a good metal...

Just post some pics, OP! No one's going to bash you! I paid $4,500 for mine!
Check the first pic to see what she looked like when I drove her home.

If you can't find parts at his yard, some salvage yards have access to an electronic inventory of parts via computer that lets them search the inventories of every other salvage yard on it nation wide. These yards have the ability to buy and sell parts between each other, typically cheaper that...
Typically it's 10% - 12% of what they offer you for the totaled vehicle depending on a few things. One of my best friends' mother is my insurance agent :)
I'd take the $$, buy it back and fix it up myself. You may not know much about cars, but now's the perfect time to learn!! Find yourself...

Definitely an option to explore! If you decide not to fix it, when they tell you how much $$$ they'll give you for it, do the math and see if you can buy it back and part it out to make more $$. For example, when my Del Sol Si was totaled (4th car in a 5 car pile-up), they gave me...
Isn't it true that a MBC's setting can change due to atmospheric conditions? Such as a particularly warm day or cool night? Or is that just a report from people not using quality MBC's?
You'll need an aftermarket BOV regardless of your down pipe due to the higher level of boost you'll be running. ((do you have BOV confused with wastegate?) I have a BIC divorced downpipe and I love it, but some people say its too loud for them. With my HKS Sport exhaust, it's actually pretty...
Excellent! Congrats on the new job!
Those links do a great of of going into great detail concerning what you'll need to do for the Lex / 550 mod. but as far as supporting mods, you'll want to look into installing a nice metal head gasket and ARP headstuds on the engine you swap in. ((Maybe put...
Before you go off and buy anything, make sure you do your best to research all of your options. What's your budget? Do you have your heart set on an aftermarket turbo and manifold? If you need to save some $$, it may be cheaper to find a modified CT26, maybe a .57 trim, here on the forums and...
I've always ran premium in my all cars. It's just much better for any high-compression or forced induction engine. It prevents detonation, keeps your fuel system running clean, and you get better gas mileage to boot. The money you save on one tank of gas by buying the cheap stuff is about $3 or...
