None at all, to be honest. If I decide to put this HX35 I just bought on this spring, I'd be happy to sell mine back to you lol. I'm just not sure if I can afford to yet!
But isn't a 3" V-band supposed to be 3" on the inside, not the outside? By that I mean, isn't the hole itself supposed to be 3"? Or do all 3" V-bands take that 3" measurement from the outside of the v-band flange? I just want to make sure I can find another v-band flange for when I fab-up a...
I picked up this HX35 from a friend at work who decided to go bigger on his Cummins diesel.
It has a powder coated compressor housing, absolutely ZERO shaft play, new seals, and he had it rebalanced shortly before he sold it to me cheap! Let's just say he made me an offer I couldn't...
Yep! One pull on the dyno! I didn't turn the boost up from stock until I got it on the dyno so I could watch everything. Then, when I we got to boost up to 15psi, I saw white smoke and I shut it down immediately. Then had it flat-bedded home.
15psi from a .57 trim CT26 and a stock headgasket finished my motor for the year. The guy I bought my MkIII from said the 7M had an MLS headgasket and ARP studs, so I saved up and did the Lex/550 mod with all the right stuff thinking it would hold. Then, all of a sudden on the dyno... POOF...
Really? I'm not disputing you, but this is the first I've heard of doing this. Could you explain why you'd do that? And which ATF is supposed to be used?
This is how I ran mine for my 7M. Pretty much the stock rout. It looks pretty long, but my .57 trim spools like like a mo-fo.
I'm not sure if this would be useful or not...
I could call him, hell I could go to his house about 20 minutes from here, but I don't think it would change much. He could just say the guy he got it from lied to him or some such BS. In any event, I'm not going to let this "break my stride". I'm already on the hunt for parts!. I found a 2mm...
::SECOND UPDATE::
Well, it turns out the previous owner DIDN'T install an MLS headgasket and ARP's like he said... Found this out when I BHG'd from 13psi on the dyno today!!! Once I saw white smoke, I shut it down and I'm having it towed home... Time to take it apart and DO IT RIGHT. ARP studs...
I'm sorry, I must have misread your earlier post. I assumed since you said this....
...that you had went ahead and just stuck your 'in cabin' controller in the engine compartment!
Shows what I get for assuming...
BTW gentlemen, if you decide to order a MBC like mine from DM, be sure you...
