are you sure its the valve? Try attaching a tube to the egr and sucking on it when the car is running. If the car car starts to run odd when you suck on the tube then goes back to normal when you are not then its not the valve. Have you tested the VSV for the egr? If you want it gone get...

Its just a tube with a restrictive part to it. Run a fuel line directly from one side of the fuel return to the other instead of having the J in the loop. There are sponsors on here that sell flat plates that go where the J tube goes so that you don't have a useless tube sitting there. But...

Either the wires touched ground and began to heat up and melt (maybe a slice in the wire from rubbing somewhere), there was too much load on those wires or the turbo timer malfunctioned internally crossing leads somehow. But I would think the TT would have started smoking too.

Factory ones are noisy. Changing them to an aftermarket injector might be quieter. I nice my 550s don't seem to make any noise.
