How many of us have automatics?

I have a N/A auto, and plan on keeping the auto when I do a 1JZ swap. I just like the auto because it's hassle free, and it's better for me for driving around town. [noob question] My biggest question would be, is it better to keep the auto currently in the car, or get a 1JZ that has an auto...

Look at these pictures with me, please.

Just for clarification (as I'd hate to see something get messed up), the fluid in your clutch master cylinder and the gear oil in your tranny are two different types of fluid. They are independent of each other, and are NOT one in the same. ;) The clutch is filled from the clutch master...

Look at these pictures with me, please.

The first few pics are of your clutch slave cylinder. Check your clutch master cylinder to see if it's low. Also, how is your clutch working? If it's too low on fluid, you will feel it not disengaging all the way.

Supras in movies or on TV

There's a MKIII in the movie "Twins". It's in the scene where Arnold Schwarzenegger meets one of his dad's to find out about his mother. Also, in the movie "The Wizard", the father and older brother are out looking for the boys; and cross the center line, almost running a MKII off the road.

good way to port and polish intake and exhaust manifolds

I seen that yesterday, and was thinking that it had to be a joke. A few pages into the thread, it was confirmed that it was just a joke.

Whos has the best/coolest license plates

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea... The spelling(s) that I wanted to use were already taken, but the message still gets across. :)

    Post your Pre-89 bumper thread

Yep. The car was in Akron, OH, and I bought it for $430. I was told that all it needed was a cleanup, fuel pump, and rear window; but I soon found out otherwise. :) So far, I've replaced: the fuel pump (Walbro), rear window, transmission pan gasket, neutral safety switch (went out last...

    Post your Pre-89 bumper thread

Here's the Supra I just bought. (This is the day I picked it up, and before any cleanup). I don't have any current pics, but will post them when I get some.

    Damn deer...

A great tool to use is a porta power. They can be bought for just over $200, but if you know anyone that works at a body shop; they may let you borrow one to straighten out your radiator support. (A body shop would probably charge less than that to straighten out that support). If not...

    Transmission doesn't shift

^^^ Thanks for the help. The speedo cable in my link didn't look right to me either, so that's why I posted it here versus ordering it and hoping for the best. Does anybody know of a good online store that has the cable, or am I stuck having to order one from the Toyota stealership?

    Transmission doesn't shift

So if the speedometer isn't working, then the tranny won't shift? Is the cable one piece, or is it multi sectional? I looked online, and found a cable; but I'm not sure if this is the correct cable. Does this look right to you guys...

    Transmission doesn't shift

I just bought my first Supra a few weeks ago, and almost have it running. The only snag I'm running into now is this: Yesterday, I tried to start my car to discover that the engine wouldn't crank. After a bit of troubleshooting, I seems as though the neutral safety switch failed. I...

    Brake lights stay on

Update: It was the brake light switch. The switch just needed to be adjusted closer to the pedal.

Climate control buttons not staying down!

You could always pic up a climate control on Ebay for under $75. That's where I plan on getting an 89+ to put in my 86.5.

    Just bought my first Supra!

That's it! When I get new rims to put on the car, I plan on changing over to Toyo Proxies. I got the Supra started the other night, but it's running really lean. I spoke with my mechanic, and he thinks that the injectors may have varnish in them with as long as the car was sitting. After...

    Just bought my first Supra!

:icon_lol: The spider was evicted. I believe that the car has been sitting for just over a year. The previous owner bought this car to use as a parts car, but then ended up selling it instead of stripping it out. During the past year, he said that he started the car, and drove it on...
