If you arent spending much denfinetley don't get clearcoat. Proper prep for clear should include wetsanding. It is a lot of work so its more money. Arcrylic is the way to go if you aren't paying much because more money will go into better bodywork.

Can you get the starter to crank? if so rest the brakerbar on the frame and give it a little crank it should break loose. If not there is a special tool to hold the crank still while you reef on it.
