I would just like to point out, that even tho the car was running for only a minute overheated, as soon as you shut it off the coolant stops flowing, and starts to get hotter, and the motor will sit there cooking for as long as it takes for everything to cool down... just thought i'd mention it.
88.. I think some of the connectors behind the dash would be for the super monitor... and that one by the clutch pedal, would be either the clutch safety switch, or for the cruise control, to tell the cruise control the clutch is fully out.

iirc only issue I know is that the button for defrost/lower vent does not function with the 89+ climate controls when they are installed in pre89 cars.
I have the issue with my lights working intermitently for the temp up/down, but that is just an issue with my individual climate control...
I put the flat side of the washer towards the plug and the smaller side towards the head.
I gapped my plugs to .23, I used the same plugs and needed to gap them down.
