my wife wants to join the army

Tell you what you do. Take you wife and go visit a VA Hospital that's close to you. Take a look at some of the people that pass through there. Keep in mind that if ANYTHING should happen while she's on active service, any injury, any health problem, this is the network she'll be sent into...

    R154 output spline count

The question is, how many splines does the output shaft of the R154 have? 21 or 23? No, I don't have one with me to count. I'd like to know because of: http://www.hardyspicer.com.au/1350_performance_2006.asp Can the W58 yoke fit the R154? Greg

R154's came in what other vehicles?

No, the R154 is specific to the Supra and Soarer. The version that comes in all Toyota trucks are either R150's or R151's. Same basic design but with different gear ratio's and a shorter input shaft (96 and earlier versions). You might be able to get the part you need out of a truck version...

GM 2.8l to 3.1L Engine swap

It's not quite that easy. For one thing, if the 2.8 came out of a RWD vehical (S10) and the 3.1 came out of a FWD car, then the starter locations are on the opposite sides. Also, the flywheels are different diameters. I REALLY suggest you go over to the 60 Degree board and ask these...
