Normally coolant smoke is very white, puffy, long lasting smoke. Maybe its just the quality of the movie, but it seems like that disappears quick.... like condensation. I would say no, no BHG

Have you changed the antifreeze lately? If not Blown head gasket. Do compression check and/or block test. If you have changed fluid, burp system and do jiggle valve mod.... search

40!??!!! :aigo: If your not overheating, and its not a BHG, you have basically no piston rings! At 40 compression on 2 cylinders you should be be SMOKING if its a BHG. Either way....time for a rebuild!!!

check your torque on the HG. No, Installing a BOV wont cause a BHG, but I dont like the sound of "some kids worked on the vehicle". Are you overheating?

Faulty BOV, Improperly seated BOV, BOOOOOST LEAK! Check to see if black smoke is coming out the exhaust when boosting.... = running very rich. Also, any engine codes?

You dont have to do the 12v mod. You have to do the j tube bypass because the hole is too small to relieve all the pressure from the fuel and will result in a rich running condition. Shaeff wrote a great write up in the 2nd opr 3rd page of the tech section

To be honest I don't think it would be worth the work. Theres a lot of wiring and other stuff to do. If you want a better handling car, you can buy megan/tein basic coilovers for around $850 on ebay that will work fantastic. Plus I heard the illumina's have problems leaking over time...
