ok I can't keep from getting compressor surge. With the stock BOV vented to the air is the only way I seem to be letting off gas. is this obviously a vacuum problem? I've removed the EGR so alot of the lines got relocated. and some of the sensors may have been removed. where should I start?

I've got some pieces that came with my head gasket kit. there is 24 of them so I assume they go around the valve. they have a lil spring around them to hold them tight to something. what are they, where do they go, and should they be replaced?

which one do I pull to kill the pump? I am pulling the motor and don't want to worry about catching gas. Bonus Question: Greddy timer turns off at like 5k and if the rpms drop fast... really annoying, why would it do this? sometime when I break and sometimes when it just freakin feels like it.
