What I use is Dow Corning 732 RTV Black, this is the highest quality Silicone you can buy, If it will be exposed to any sunlight you must use the Black otherwise the sun will cause the clear to break down quicker. I use it to seal the rubber or trim to the body to keep any water from running...
There aint no metal surfaces on a car that don’t need lubrication for easy future removal EXCEPT upper and lower ball joints seating into conical sockets of the spindles. I say everything else you want to come apart easy in the future, LUBE it. I use anti-seize on everything especially on...
Cool thanks I got the one top pc off. I see its Stainless too with high carbo conytent so there is some rust between the plastic and trim. I will char the plastic off, sand it down and paint it with a rustoleum ultra flat black. I will use the same color on all the trim so at least it will look...
I know I saw a great write up on this so I did a search and can’t come up with anything. I need to remove the black trim around my rear deck lid to refinish. Especially the top part where the sprayer is mounted. It's coated with plastic that has peeled off and looks nasty. Any help getting...
To remove rust I use what’s commonly called Wood Bleach, Oxalic Acid. Some pharmacies carry it. It's cheap and won't harm anything except Rust. DuPont used to have it in their Radiator cleaner (the only brand that ever actually removed rust) not sure if they still sell it. As far as cast iron...
First thing I do is try to secure a manufacturer name for what I want, then get a part number. Then I go to summitracing dot com and see if they sell that manufacturers brand, if they do that’s where I buy First. After that I try Jegs, then if ALL else fails I try a supra supplier. As time goes...
Here's how I did mine
1 I Remove all oils and road crap at the drive thru car wash.
2 I Remove all the coating using Paint Stripper, then rinse that crap off.
3 Using a hose with what ever grain wetndry paper, lightly rough up the surfaces you intend to paint.
5 Prior to painting...
der ain't never gonna be any reliability or real power coming from a V6 no matter what you strap on to it. That's why the MK4 with it's Inline6 has such a high resale value and the NSX or anything with a V6 don't.
Here's some close up my wheels. I painted them about 5 months ago I used Rustoleum Hammered Black paint. I did the Toyota logo using a syringe and needle with white paint. I put the needle down into the recess and slowly gently applied pressure to the syringe using the sides of the recess to...
Ya beat me to it. Summit is the place, as time goes on they are moving to help all the import cars. Ive been buying from them for the last 15 years and have spent at least 60k there. That equales a ton of money saved over the years. High Fives for Summit and bingo they sell Wiseco.

Steering system tidbit for long term owners. If you want to make all your steering parts last longer, like anything else, filter and cool it. The hoses and rack last longer cause their cooled and filtered. Tranny shops sell the safe cool little inline filter, and you can use any small cooler...
When I rebuild engine, to seal surfaces that have pits or you just want to prevent pitting of gasket surfaces. I use Devcon F putty to bring the surface to a smooth surface again first, It's an aircraft grade Epoxy Putty that’s 80% Aluminum powder. I've sealed holes from rocks on my desert...
Something I have heard from shop owners lately is Do NOT have your transmission flushed. It seems this procedure is great for repair shops as it often blows seals inside the tranny and flushes bad things to where they would normally never get. I use the old B&M tranny filter mount and a Wix...
I've seen recently allot of questions concerning Security here on this and other forums. I have also seen posts from many folks whose Supras have been stolen. Maybe you should be a little more cautious with allowing posts of such topics as key pictures, where is your hidden kill switch is, where...
Okay is it me or are there allot of questions about things that if you're smart and want to keep your Supra should NOT be answered? I've seen what does your key look like, then folks mentioned they could reproduce your key from the pic and then your gonna cry when someone steals your supra. I...
I am close to selecting new shocks myself so I went to summitracing.com since I knew the sold Tokiko's. I was supprised to find they no longer rep Tokico, usually the only reason summit drops a line is for failure rates. I guess I am going to go with KYB's since I have had them on every vehicle...
