Try wiggling the shaft as a rotating back and forth motion just a few degrees as you pull on the shaft. Yes, the bearing needs reamed to fit after a new one is installed.
Cometic being more forgiving to prep work is an internet rumor at best. It is simply not true. Cometic WANTS to see a ra of 50, hks WANTS to see a ra of 35. This in no way means that cometic is more forgiving. It simply means that hks WANTS you to use a higher finish level than cometic WANTS you...
Got stranded at that stinkin race for a few days. Air cond. pump motor Idle pulley on the motor home's engine froze up and knocked the belt off the motor. Stupid CAT motors can't be short belted either since the location of the tensioner next to the air pump prevents this. So got stuck out of...
Not as much as one might think Mike. Having thoughts maybe??
Ebay?? Jinky...I can only imagine what the sellers fee would be for that!! I have several motors here that I might build on spec to sell if I ever get caught up. Watch out for some of those JDM engines, they could be in bad shape to...
Grease helps protect the seal as you install it over the shaft it is to seal. Sliding a dry seal over a dry shaft end can damage the seal. I would not say everything I do is proper:) but thanks for the compliment!

I am usually around, Stop by just give a call ahead of time. I can waste a bunch of time talking Supra!
I like the cometic one. It is made in Canada, but I am not sure who made it for Cometic. Felpro, stone, evergreen and a bunch of others make a rear main seal also, but I...
There is no OEM std spec. The OEM spec falls withing a wide range numbers not only for the crank journals, but for the rod big end and main housing bore also. So for all these combinations of sizes is why the select a size bearings are used from Toyota. This being said, the aftermarket bearings...
We don't use the squirters in the malta dragster. 1400 RWHP and the rods are not rifle drilled either. Just the oil accumulators on the CP pistons is all that is oiling the pins Nash. No problems at all.
I am doing them as a 274 duration .310 lift. You don't have to have adj, cam gears, but to get the most of the cams you should have them. I grind the cams on the oem center lines, so you can install them just by lining up the hash marks on the oem gears and the notches in the rear cam gear plate.
Some more pics of this long block rebuild.
