    I swapped the harness and a few other things and it started right up. But it has rod knock. Can't/can believe it. It was advertised as having absolutely ZERO motor problems. Lies. So now I'm selling the piece of crap to try to get my money back.

    To fix that cam gear, you just gotta get it re-welded up and have a new hole drilled through. Like I said, I gave them to you because they were just paper weights in my garage, already ordered new Fidanza gears for the motor I'm building. GL with the build!

    I was told to take a long and run it across the block deck then wipe the deck down with brake cleaner before I do the headgasket install. Is this right? Never heard this method before.

    Hmmmmm the plot thickens. I guess ill just start rebuilding the damn thing. I have a few pulley pullers, so that's no issue then. Cool. Thanks to those that have helped thus far, keep me informed on things I should look for. I'm going to post pics of the dissassembly process and reassembly.
