Spring Restoration - Project old school MK3 revival

Works are finally mounted. I snapped these pics after cleanup. When I pull the car out again I will snap cleaner profile shots. I need to get slim fitting lugs as the lug cover wont fit flush as the short Lexus lugs I had are still not short enough to clear wheel surface. I like the...

Spring Restoration - Project old school MK3 revival

Well today was a long and painful day.... I finally got to swapping out the power steering pump. That was the most disgusting job I have ever taken on on any Toyota. From years of leaks and grime buils up it felt like I was working in a pool of crude oil for hours! Anything I touched got...

Spring Restoration - Project old school MK3 revival

So I have had my MK3 parked since August 2009. Since then I have just been assessing the good the bad and the disastrous. The good new is the we started up the car in Toronto Canada, and filled up the tank, checked the oil level and we made it to NYC without any hiccups. Driving on dry...

    PS Pressure Hose broken?

Doesnt hose and whole pressure hose, imply the same thing? I am confused as to what you are asking. If you are speaking of the rubber crimped on extension... then I dont believe you can, unless you take the fitting to a hose supply store that can custom make PS lines.

Removing w58 transmission cant reach last 3 bolt off the bellhousing

I needed to get about 30" of 1/2" drive extension and a swivel socket to successfully remove those two top tranny bolts. You also have to drop the tail section of tranny to get the extensions lined up correctly. Good Luck I did the AT to MT swap in Sept 2009. It wasn't bad. just my car...

    I wrecked my Supra :(

Actually not hard to believe at all. With snow tires (not all season) and a some good experience in snow driving, it is very possible. I did very very well for 4 winters in my IS300 with dedicated Blizzak LM-22 tires.

Thats the lip I will be ordering...... I think it provides the best looking fitment and is not too bulky. I will order the non CF version though.

    I wrecked my Supra :(

Damn, If you were closer I'd help you, but Im over in NYC. Its really not that hard if you have the right tools and workspace. If you don't have a good set of tools or friends with experience, or have not done this before.... even swapping a motor set into a new shell will be a journey. I'd...

    I wrecked my Supra :(

It depends... some things may be reuseable..... you have to take it apart and look under the hood. You cant just give up based on pictures.

    I wrecked my Supra :(

It is way easier to repair that car than to swap parts to yet another old supra. I would fix this car. You are not going to save much by buying a shell car and swapping parts. From those pic you gonna need a hood, rad, rad support, fans (maybe), bumper, header panel, and other little misc...

help i need help on my car title

Find out why the car was salvaged by the DMV. Fix or get the proper documents to support that the car is in good standing and operational. Schedule a "Salvage Inspection" by the DMV to review the car and documents. IF the car passes the inspection you will be issued a "Salvage rebuilt" or...

    Front lip choice? (pre89)

I completely understand what you are saying. That doesn't look so bad, but having a lowered car and a front lip puts you in an inevitable position to ruin a lip on something at one point or another. I have seen some bad useage of weatherstripping :) (like old hatch seal weather stripping...

88 turbo supra timeline for your viewing pleasure lots of pictures

People put spacer washers and longer hood hinge bolts in the rear of the hood to pop the rear of the hood up to create a natural vacuum vent for under hood temps due to the turbo heat. I have seen this on several high HP cars with huge turbos. It actually works quite well. The garden liner...

    Front lip choice? (pre89)

Sorry, I meant the HomeDepot looks like BS. Again that is my opinion and I would never cut corners like that. Might as well start doing bodywork with Spackle while your at it :( This is just my opinion, and I think its just as pointless as The WRX weather stripping front lip I read about on...
