^ Adjuster was ftw.
Time for that 5 speed swap. :icon_bigg
*edit*
t'was the broken flexplate... the noise was the holes hitting the edge of the block/oil pan. doesnt appeared to have messed either up though.
I will check all three things that have been suggested so far. I would call the noise more of the "clack clack clack" as opposed to the "click click click" .
Will taking the plug off make the noise dissapear even if it's in the valvetrain? My first thought was a floater when it started...
Ported parts are all I'm looking into.
Well, that and nawz.
A beter intake would be the tits, but it doesnt have to be front facing. Just something that would flow better than stock and fit my 82. Actually, I would LOVE to see a different intake. I would be interested for sure.
Could I also get a list of every possible reason I would be hitting FCO @ stock boost with a stock wastegate (unshimmed).
Also, Boost creep. It'll boost to 7 psi and will gradually just keep working it's way up. We shimmed the wastegate way out and it was running 10-12 psi and would still...
Yes, flex plate was torqued correctly. The torque converter was also.
Last time I checked the trans fluid was at the correct level as well. If it was low wouldnt it be shifting like crapp as well?
^ Not possible. I was running the turbo elbow only. But I guess it could have been the engine/trans supports. But it doesn't really sound like that through the stethoscope. Kind of a high-ish pitched hollow sound. Like a lifter actually. But it's deffinitely a lot louder under the car than...
OK, Rebuilt engine, all stock. Maybe 2500-3000 miles on it. 7mgte, 7psi, been hitting FCO like a mother since it's been together (hole in IC and 15 other leaks that Jason and I found). Been running basically a turbo elbow the entire time, yeah... No oil leaking problems, never been low...
Bent would keep it closed... making you boost too much. The stock arm is slightly bent to fit around all the crapp under the turbo.
*edit*
I guess if it was 'bent' meaning it was straightened out a bit.... that would leave it opened, but you would eventually boost some I would think. I am...
-Speedo failed now for the second time after passing 100 MPH - I do have the vehicle speed sensor code BTW if that matters but I dont think so since the speedometer is cable driven.
^ Don't go over 100mph? :icon_bigg
-I have a brake leak that I think I am going to try and fix today...
And NFS Carbon = Teh suxorz I want my money/hard drive space back. You know how many pics/vids of Indian tits I had to delete to fit that on my computer? :icon_conf
School sucks. I'm not even getting paid to surf SupraMania today... talk baout LAME
I just start it up and wait for my CD to start playing... it's some cheap POS that takes about 15-20 secs to load the mp3 files i guess. Then i drive off and wait for it to warm up.
I seen it written, and maybe it was IJ that posted it, Sure the engine may be warm when you let it sit and...
Meh... I bet it has something to do w/ the timing. Maybe now it's not running uber rich and it's just pinging or something. I've got my fingers crossed that thats what it is anyway.
Tonight I'll set the timing and drive it. If it still does it, I'll pull the valve covers and see what's...
Wastegate hose on the exhaust manifold? Any rubber lines touching anything that gets super hot?
*edit*
Possible Caliper sticking? Ever felt your wheels after you drive the car for a bit? Any wheels 'blacker' than the others?
