My car has a similair issue in that my steering wheel gets all wackey, at 50mph the streering wheel shimmey's about an inch side to side. I Have had an alignment done. I think mine has to do with the brake rotors though because it gets harsher under deceleration and i didn't bother to get the...
Maybe something blew Failure14's head that he didn't think to fix. If you lean out you can blow a headgasket, so say your fuel system wasn't up to par to its original operating specs and boom. I have no idea why i blew a headgasket so im upgrading or renewing everything i can. Im going to skip...
Just about everyone with a mk3 i have seen has been very mediocre at drifting. One of the guys i seen on here who drifted his car in that parking garage was pretty good.
Oh well, i will just scrape the gasket residue off and use the toyota oem gasket with arp headstuds and call it a day. Cheaper that way and i plan on just making it a super reliable daily (HOPEFULLY, on the super reliable part!)
LOL---- I hear people talking about lapping all the time! People will say you need to lap your block if you don't take it to be machined with your head yet they will give no knowledge about what specific things to remember when lapping. Is there not specific things to know to be correct for...
When my 1987 supra was created i was just a year old, wasn't doing anything too exciting. I hadn't even known there was a 1986.5-1992 supra till i was about 16 when i discovered it on gran turismo. Forgot about it then found out about it again when i started looking for cars on craigslist...
Well the drive-to wrench ratio with my supra is 500 miles to at least 45 hours of wrenching. First it was the rack and pinion, then a blown motor, then a turbo, then a radiator, then a blown headgasket....well you get the point. At least its a different thing every time!
I have a 7mgte and plan on lapping the block, i was looking for lapping plates and realized there are many different variants. What should i look for in a lapping plate? Also, the compounds have various grit types. I am guessing through what research i have done to go with the 280 grit compound...
Mine caught fire from oil spitting out of the dipstick on to the turbo. It was around the time i first got it and knew nothing much about engines so i just drove it like that and it happened several times. When you get a supra is around the time you learn.
I have one question when it comes to using a stock gasket, i thought you want to make up the difference as to not change the compression ratio but if you use a stock gasket, well you can't.
