I have NFI about HG problems with Nissans, this is a supra forum ;). The supra has a cast iron block and AL head, along with a stock composite HG. That's what my reference was too :D

The stock boost gauge is hella slow, don't use that as a reference. Since you're nearly stock, you probably won't be able to hear the turbo spool much. A full flowing Downpipe will work wonders on the car, the stock turbo elbow is a massive restriction if there ever was one.

Dissimilar metals expand at faster/slower rates than each other, hence one of the reasons composite HG's like to blow.

When you say the temp gauge doesn't go above half, do you mean it's right at half, or under half some? Because half way on a Supra gauge is damn hot!

Yes, it's pretty normal to have a hot, heat soaked engine bay, especially on turbo models. Some ways to combat this are to: open up exhaust restrictions. Ceramic coat your exahust parts, wrap them too. Do the same for your heat shields. Vented hood/headlights.

If you're having lagg problems with a CT-26, then you've most likely got a boost leak or something else is wrong with the setup...

That's becuase you were using shit injectors the first time around and they probably were smaller than advertised, hense a leaner A/F mixture.

Huge difference between sounds there my friend. I have a full 3" no cats, no resonator RSR GTII exhaust and it sounds nothing like an open wastegate.
