Thanks. I think it is a little easier than rebuilding the firewall.
Stretching the nose came about with the position of the subrame according to the engine position.
I have an update on the project, but first I have a couple of better pics from last weekend I forgot about... They show the engine a little better.
Here are pics of the progress from today. I have started grafting 2 fenders together to get longer fenders. The pass side was done first...
Thanks for the reminder on the traction bars. That was a concern of mine when I saw the bars on my pearl supra were bent. I have extras that I was going to reinforce, i just need to remember to do that.
My number 1 concern about this build is traction. Has anyone finished one of these...
That would require a lot of ingenuity. I can only get as far as design, and calculations, but I don't have the building skills to implement that setup. I have thought about it, but decided the extra work wasn't worth it. I feel dumb saying that to a guy with a turbo 6l build in a supra...
That is a great question that I hadn't thought to ask for opinions because I assumed the obvious. I had two options in mind. Initially I had thought to run 15x7 front and 15x10 in rear. I already bought the street tires and rims to fit. Cragar soft 8: 4 inch backspace. I later decided that...
Thanks for the input. I agree. When I did the tails, it was just a bagged custom truck and I was looking to do something that no one had done before(in 2005). Now it is just an eye-sore on a vehicle that is otherwise all toyota. I don't have any current plans on dealing with that as it would...
Yeah, the tall strut towers were not ideal, but funds and 'stuff I already had' came into play there. Besides I can buy the supra lowering springs to change ride height and struts to replace worn struts. The raised floor be was from the old bagged setup and shaved tailgate. I do miss the...
I never even saw that. His truck will look much more professional than mine. He's got me on the full custom frame. Can't say I like the modded firewall though. Another similarity is... free time. I only get to work on mine on the weekends. Luckily my wife is all-in on this project. If only...
This is not your typical engine-swap supratruck build. It is a much more intimate union between a supra and a truck. Therefore I dubbed it Suck. Try to spot everything from a supra.
Here is my 2010(?) Toyota Suck
sneak peek: if you just found this thread, this is from page 12, read entire...
It does have the blue wire but it is labeled by the wiring instructions to be a 2nd afm input for the rb20dett(?). Is there another purpose for this wire that I am unaware of?
I wanted to go with the maft pro, but didn't. I decided for my power goals, a safc would be enough. The vf is...
A wideband is on the way. The vf meter is not intended to replace the wideband. The neo isn't doing much but allowing me to get used to using it. No major changes have been made yet to the fuel system.
Did you read the links I provided? One of them talks about tuning with the vf signal. If your tuning is off a little, the ecu will try to compensate and fight the adjustments. When your wideband reads too lean or rich, sometimes the reason is in the vf signal and you must tune accordingly. I...
That's neat. I could not find anything on this site where anyone else had done this. I was beginning to think everyone was using voltmeters or expensive hardware(I guess if you already have it). I would have to say that the vf meter is very fast acting, easy to read and accurate. I could...
If anyone decides to build this, post up your results and include a pic if you can. I would like to see other people's work. As you can see it is a very basic circuit. It doesn't take much to build at all. Here is the schematics:
