well, I want a 2001-2002. The 98-2000 models blew the turbos, they fixed it on the 01/02. On all the forums i see, its the 2000 and olders that have lots of problems.
It's alot cooler lifting the hood and saying it's a GT40 :)
Don't touch the GT4088R.... it's trash. The GT35R out performs it.
I run the 65mm GT40-88 with 550's on my 1JZ. I'm dyno tuning on pump gas in about 2 weeks. I expect to see the closer side of 500whp, maxing out the fuel..
When i sell my SC, i've been thinking about picking one up. They are amazing cars and are now affordable (10-14k). Anyone with experence with said car?
Yes. A/R plays a big role. .81 is the bare minimum i'd go on a JZ motor. .6x is for very small displacement motors, or if you wan't instant spool with not alot of top end power.
I run the Precision GT4088 .81 on my bone stock 1JZ with just fuel. I'm hitting positive boost around 3200, and full boost by 4200. Very responsive turbo on the street.
People are hitting 10's with this turbo on 2JZGTE's with just fuel and no other internal mods on supra forums.
The...
yes. the GE pistons are still dished too lol...
nothing a headgasket doesn't fix.
Oh, and to you oil squirter bandwagoneers, just buy em from toyota and install them. Most high hp 2JZ's run GE blocks because when your 1000+, the oil squirters actually hurt performance.
A 1JZGTE with a GT40-88 will max them out in pump gas. Around 500whp and 18-20psi depending on mods.
A precision GT40-88 with the better exhaust wheel and housing is good to 650whp, far beyond the reach of 550's.
