    Header/Exhaust System Design

I was talking to cuel about header vs exhaust manifold not too long ago, and these are the values of the OBX header. Ports(at head, individual s.s. tubes)) o.d.: 1.513" Collectors: 2.003" Pipe from collector to cat.: 2.003" Those were his measurements. IIRC, pacesetter/OBX are pretty...

Well this was the original thread. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44148 I think those #'s are intake.

    Header/Exhaust System Design

I saw this in the turbocharger section and thought this might help contribute to making us a header or something. This is for the N/A though. I removed the turbo related stuff. RPM ----- CFM 2500 ---- 104.1666667 2750 ---- 114.5833333 3000 ---- 125.0000000 3250 ---- 135.4166667 3500...

    well-running NA?

The reason I have the N/A Upgrade FAQ is because I've researched a lot of our possibilities, but if you're looking for noticeable/decent performance gains, then pretty much here's what counts the most IMO: Properly sized Header/Exhaust, TB, Driveshaft ...then consider changing out Intake and...

So N/A guys, why exactly are you N/A?

In my first post, I was just throwing out random questions. I don't really remember making any assumptions about Supra owners except them being broke initially or becoming broke after owning a Supra.

    N/A-T question.

    57 trim on a 1/2 NA-T? Risky business!

    whats the difference?

If you want it to pass emissions and stuff, I think you need a USDM TB, EGR VSV, and other EGR related stuff. Here's something that might help you. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=EC&P=12

    whats the difference?

The only difference I recall for the JDM and USDM motors is that the JDM ones don't have EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). Here's a TSRM diagram. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=2501&P=1

    well-running NA?

I *think* that good compression numbers are 150 or higher, and the compression between the cylinders should all be pretty close (difference of less than 5-10%?). Some stuff to replace if compression is low would be the headgasket, exhaust valve, or just do a rebuild (replace gaskets/piston...

    Header/Exhaust System Design

My bro's pacesetters had trouble fitting his 7MGE. Hmmm. Oh well.

    Header/Exhaust System Design

DT's had to be modded to fit 5Ms too? Now that's weird! My dad had Doug Thorley headers on his Dark Blue 83 Supra. He never had complaints about it. Maybe it might have been a slight difference in years? Haha. I don't know much about MK2s

    well-running NA?

My bro's N/A pulled like a champ. IIRC he beat a turbo auto on a roll. My N/A pulls pretty good too, for what it has. I think it's due to the fact that he had a rebuilt engine, while I have a supposed "low mileage jdm" engine, with a fresh hg (means that I have good compression).

    Header/Exhaust System Design

The doug thorley's which fit the 5M don't fit the 7M. I know from experience. (sort of. My bro had to have doug thorley's modified)

So N/A guys, why exactly are you N/A?

Haha staying N/A for MK2 and MK3 owners is different. It's all about the weight, and to push our weight, we need power :(

Common reasons of 1JZ Turbo Failure?

What are the most common reasons that they fail/blow?
  16. M

So N/A guys, why exactly are you N/A?

The general consensus is that N/A owners are broke initially, while turbo owners are ok at first but then become broke. Haha.
