Some people just want to race spontaneously. I don't like the thought of racing on the street and I really don't do it much, but the one time I did it was completely random cause I just felt like it.
This thread is going nowhere. People will stick to their opinions and that's that...
Some people on this forum who do I/H/E to N/As say they feel a world of a difference and they've probably gained around 30 HP/RWHP, and who knows how much torque. That's what a stock turbo is compared to the N/A. 32-36 more HP, and 70+ lbft torque, and both of these higher numbers are all at...
32 more horsepower @ lower rpms, 70lbft @ lower rpms, and turbo cars gain power easily on bolt ons. They aren't overhyped. They make power with little mods. N/As can do those, and will gain nowhere near as much, and after that, the options are up unless you're willing to break the bank :P...
Well, depending on what happens, Allan will be sending me his version of the pacesetter (modified etc.) and I'll be putting it on my car and taking it to the dyno. Right now I'm running the stock exhaust manifold so I'll compare the results. My exhaust system isn't stock, but we can factor stuff...
Although supramacist is giving his opinion, I don't exactly agree with the whole "turbo is fake power" thing either. Technically, turbos shouldn't be as reliable cause there are more parts in it to go wrong, but I really don't think it's that much of a difference if you're aware of what's...
Both the 7MGE and 7MGTE sections both have tons of problems, but the reason for these problems is the same, and I'd say it's due to cheap people cutting corners, people not knowing how to maintain their car, and cause these cars are old and are bound to have problems, or a mix of those.
I've only raced once, and it wasn't even for that long. Sometimes IMO, it's just fun to "race", but still, I usually do it with minimal people around. I don't try to race in traffic and stuff cause that's just dumb.
I was actually thinking of using a Pacesetter Header too. Ouch.
I'm pretty sure that this topic is going to lead to the production of headers that are actually good for N/As though.
It'd be safer just to go GTE electronics. The 57 trim at stock boost flows more than a 46 trim, so in reality, even if you run stock boost on a 57 trim its like running elevated boost on a 46 trim, and from what I've heard, running stock boost is what you should do if you're doing GE...
You might wanna talk to PowerTrip Performance if you're looking for some good fabrication-type stuff. I remember I was asking him about the pacesetter but he said it would require an actual "model" or it would require me to bring my car to his shop.
Haha. How about the collectors and other crap after that? :P
EDIT: Forgot to mention, guys with OBX/pacesetters always have to mess with the o2 sensor location IIRC.
