i'll give some advice as far as the change out. i have heard it is as basic as a clutch replacement,only adding a different d shaft and the clutch pedal and all the assorted parts that go with it. as far as where it is on the forums/search,who knows. sometimes it works,and sometimes it does not...

check the sidewall for max air pressure

do you need the gauge thingy? no,imo,but the gauge is the only way to tell if your overflow bottle is low or has a leak. but you could just hook up a remote led for the bottle,you just need to remember then what it was for!

i would bet on just a bad fan. a bad ground could very well play a part in your shorting issues.

After sitting for 2 years,ya might wanna change every fluid the car has on it. Including the hard to find blinker fluid. Depending on how it was driven before storage,and weather conditions it was parked in add to the factor. Don't cheap out on maintenance,it's YOUR car,do it right

check for rust and possible accident damage. a dented scratched body panel can either be replaced or fixed,but it dont hurt the runnin any! if you want to dive right in and replace the motor,i say go for it.l just make it mechanically sound first
