i try to help out as much as i can and avoid telling the questioner to just simply search. at least pointing in the right direction is better than nothing at all.
i'll give some advice as far as the change out. i have heard it is as basic as a clutch replacement,only adding a different d shaft and the clutch pedal and all the assorted parts that go with it. as far as where it is on the forums/search,who knows. sometimes it works,and sometimes it does not...
do you need the gauge thingy? no,imo,but the gauge is the only way to tell if your overflow bottle is low or has a leak. but you could just hook up a remote led for the bottle,you just need to remember then what it was for!

i use the PermaCool set up from Summit. it comes with a termal probe that goes into the fins of the radiator and is adjustable. i also have a master on/off just in case something fails
After sitting for 2 years,ya might wanna change every fluid the car has on it. Including the hard to find blinker fluid.
Depending on how it was driven before storage,and weather conditions it was parked in add to the factor. Don't cheap out on maintenance,it's YOUR car,do it right
check for rust and possible accident damage. a dented scratched body panel can either be replaced or fixed,but it dont hurt the runnin any! if you want to dive right in and replace the motor,i say go for it.l just make it mechanically sound first
