Some of you guys riding bikes might want to factor in a titanium rod in your leg, and pins in your wrists into the motorycle equation. I quit riding mine after my son told me he was "scared" everytime I rode off on my bike (GSXR 750). If you ride, you will eventually pay the piper.

Have the battery checked for a shorted cell too. Alternator is connected right to it... maybe a shorted cell could cause enough resistance in the wire to heat up the post??? Just a theory.
