Did you not read my post that you quoted? I just said that I visited a few (four to be exact) AZ's and ZERO out of the Four had any German Castrol. :nono:
It's been replaced (over here anyways) with a different type of 0W-30.
Royal Purple has less detergents in it than the other two mentioned, which would be more desirable in a racing aplication than DD as you want the oil to help clean out deposits in the engine over a long oil change interval, whereas racing applications will have the oil changed out quite often.
Sorry, Jay, I'd have to put either Redline 5W-30 or German Castrol 0W-30 in it as I personanlly wouldn't put a racing oil in a daily driver ;).
I change my oil every 8000 miles, so the plugs should be okay. NGK FTW ;)
When I bought my car I found records of two seperate HG jobs on the car, so I think the mechanics before did me a favor in advance by taking it off twice before. My cousins on the other hand didn't have a BHG repair.
You can have six gears and not have as much top speed available as a five speed. IIRC isn't the gearing ratio on the MKIV's Getrag 1.00:1 in fifth gear? The MKIII turbo tranny is 1.00:1 in fourth, so what's the sixth gear ratio and fifth gear ratio of the two respectively?
To answer the question that no one gave an answer yet in regards to the LSD. The 3.1 would be for top speed.
In the MKIII, the 4.30 is acceleration, 3.73 is top speed, and 3.91 is between the two. All of them are very strong and have taken quite a beating, so you shouldn't have to worry...
