i found out my family tree...

He was born in 1944, and he was brought over here sometime in 1945, he doesn't remember a thing. We found it all out, because a week or so ago digging in his old things, he found out that his mom sent gifts, photos of him, etc to his real mother til he was 12 years old to the address of the...

i found out my family tree...

My dad is the typical nordic person too. Tall, wide sholders, good build, blonde hair, blue eyes. My mother is french, so I ended up getting light brown hair and green eyes, otherwise I'm a spitting image of my father. Cool. Do i get to join a club or something? lol

i found out my family tree...

For the longest time, my dad knew he was adpoted from Europe from a nordic or german decent. Well in the last month or so, he started doing a big push to see his actual origin. He was born in 1944 at the end of WWII. Well after he dug up some old papers and made some calls, etc.... He was...

Buy a brand new Mines ECU, or send yours off

A $50 one time fee to fix an ECU is sure of a hell alot better then telling someone to buy an AEM and spend the near grand to get it kinda tuned for street use, and to also let them know to watch the weather channel everyday just in case a cold front comes in so they can warm the laptop up...

I daily drive my car, take trips, etc... Putting a stand alone on it would render it a piece of shit. I'm thinking about driving my car from Florida to Cali next year when I move out. What would I do if i had a stand alone? Stop on the side of the road and retune everytime i get on a peak or...

High Hp and stock twins is an oxymoron. I reccomend you throw them in the trash and get a single to get "higher horsepower". What are MKIII's used for then? To keep Toyota's parts department rich?

Take your AEM stand alone tuned car, and let's take a drive from FL to Colorado and leave the laptop at home since you're not changing any parts... Let's see how good it runs :)

There is no "yes or no" answer. It all depends on application. That's like asking is a GT47-88 turbo better then a GT35R? All depends on what you're using the car for.

Having to pay $1800 once, and never have to touch it again is a sure of a hell lot better then spending $1200 on a cheaper ECU, spending $600 on laptop, spending $800 at titan to tune it, and still have to mess with it on a weekly basis.

This is worse then a holley vs. carter carburator war. Yeah the holley will get you a tad more HP, but you'll be turning screws all day to make the car work, when the carter will never let you down, but make a few less ponies.

Theres advantages and disadvantages. If you drive your car to work and back everyday, going standalone isn't giving you an advantage.

This topic is about 1JZ's. Not even the 1046whp stock bottom end 1JZ did 500whp on 93. Nitrous doesn't count. It's a simple fact that if everyone on here that has a stand alone and was a GREAT tuner, they'd be working as a tuner full time. It's also a fact that not everyone wants to...

It's always good to get into pissing wars, because in the end.. two cars are never the same and respond totally different to the same mods.

The most I was able to get on stock boost was 290whp. That was still with stock SMIC and plastic balloon pipes which made my chart look like a seismometer

Depends on the application. If your car is a street car, no matter what, your not going to get over 500whp on 93 octane, less on 91. There is zero need for a stand alone. If your car is a track or dyno queen that sees 30psi, yes the only way is to go stand alone or mapecu2.

I also did 310whp on a stock automatic 1JZGTE with nothing but a SARD ecu and a home depot boost controller.
