If the factory alarm ever strands you obnoxiously, run over to the outside key cylinder on the passenger side (RHD driver side of course) and cycle the lock a few times to reset the alarm. This will be a big help.
I was sad to see the auto trans dipstick go too. It finally stopped showing up in BMWs around the time the new E70 X5 was released (so, 2007?). The older E38 7 series of the 90s will always be one of the most ideal german cars ever engineered, and I'm pretty sure one of the last to still have 2...
The 89+ two side grills as pictured:
I planned on using either the style mesh from the ZO6/CTS-V, or the kind you have. I dont know where I could find the former, and the latter shouldnt be tough I'm assuming.
I agree that they are much more manageable nowadays, and I believe there are some aftermarket kits here and there to retrofit older cars with it. Of course, you could also simply keep an eye on your tire pressures.
Hey man, I've been meaning to ask if you have any more pictures of the new upper grills, and if theyre installed. You kinda left us hanging. What kind of grill is that, and where did you get it?
Nowadays you also have to reset the tire pressure sensor system anyways (standard on every car since 2007), so more people are going to have to, or risk getting comebacks
This too. I meant to mention that in my post. You'll need to watch your tires and how they wear (which you should do anyways). If they wear mostly in the middle part of the tread, theyre overinflated, and if it's on both sides but not the middle, theyre underinflated
IIRC, E85 has 104-108 octane rating. The ethanol has a very convenient cooling effect too. I imagine that a fuel/water separator would not be a terrible idea
I wrote up a bunch of words here, but seemed to have misplaced them. Errr...nevermind.
Shops make sure theyre between 32-35 for pretty much every car. Takes too much work to check each car and fill them individually...maybe 10% of techs out there do it right? More so in dealerships but still...
And so it begins.
I used to prefer the updated 89 bumper, but I started appreciating my car as it is. Instead of trying to update the looks too much, I can try and keep it (mostly anyways) looking like a 1988. It's an older car, and it can be tough to change too much without clashing the...
Yes, and I believe the car exterior trim clips and clips in the hatch are all still available as well. Frankly, I'm very happy and thankful so much is still available, as parts for MkIIs are few and far between it seems. I will say that the A/C blower motor is still available for the MkII however :p
