from what I've learned, when i took everything off i made sure the crank was at 0 and cams at top dead center then mark the cps when pulling it out. the noise could be your valve lifters mixed up.
Lol I'm losing my mind, yeah about the valve clearance. I'll need to check that when I put the cams on with some feller gauges then hopefully I can pick up some from toyota or Andy.
so how can i check my valve clearance? i didnt want the shop to do a valve job due to my budget limit on me still getting more parts. i only built my head to stock specs so is it necessary to check for valve clearance or is it to slap the head back on and drive it?
Honestly its up to you. Just be prepared for the worst. Im sure if you get it, it wont last long.
My first 2 cars were both Honda Accords and Im on my second Supra now. Supras takes a lot of money to maintain, as long as you have a steady income then do whatever makes you happy. Im just saying...
You know what Andy. If you still have your 3 angle valve job head, I'll take it next year. I called the shop not to do the valves cause of the shims I'm looking for. I'm gonna spend about as much as what your looking for you head. I'll sell my head and buy yours next spring if you haven't sold...
