    7mgte going through the gears.

If you still have the heat shields for your turbo you should put them back on. The ic pipe going over the exhaust will run into heat soak very quickly without them. Also reflective tape on the underside of the IC pipe will help further.

    Favorite spray paint?

Personally I like the dupli-color because of its easy spray tips. They also seem to not plug up as easy between coats and spray more evenly. But really... the spray nozzles are GREAT on them.

    Fender roll/cut

Has anyone ever cut out the fender lip on the rear quarters instead of rolling them? Ive seen this done on a few different cars as an option to just rolling. Im in the process of removing some minor rust on the fender lips and re-undercoating the wheelwells. The only thing is, I dont think I...

    Oil pump shimming

I took some pics of shimming the pump. Pics are pretty straight forward and self explanitory. The shims I used were (3) 6mm washer I believe. They measured out to about 4.86mm and fit perfectly inside the spring retainer bolt. One thing to be careful of is not to bend the pick up or outlet tube...

    Time For The Single/Stinger

Sure sounds like you have weak coils. The idea has been kicking around for sometime now and been put off as if it were something in the tune. With it working better using that tight plug gap could point at weak coils too. Seems as though its time to bite the bullet on this one :(

I take it you already attempted backing the timing off and raising the dwell with no luck?

    Oil pump shimming

Cant see why you couldnt on a NA. If your oil pressure was lower then spec shimming it to retain factory pressure would be good. It is logical that making the pump push more pressure could shorten its life, but its really only such a minimal amount. The pump would still outlast the life of the...

sad day in my little world

By anychance did you plastigauge the main or rod bearings? Those ACL's that were installed, more then likely not machined to fit correctly. Having excessive clearance would cause you spinning a bearing. Plastigauge is your friend in any engine rebuild (especailly with a 7M) OEM bearings and...
