    Happy everything!

I can barely move! Despite my ankle and knee failing me over this weekend, i managed to trot out a full christmas dinner - 6.6lb Roast Duck, Sausages wrapped in Bacon, Sage & Onion Stuffing, Roast Potato's & Roast Parsnips, Shredded Sprouts with Bacon & Sage all tied together with a rosemary and...

Can anyone tell me the purpose of this connector?

RF choke - filters out EM interference - if you were to omit it, you might have trouble hearing AM broadcasts.

Can anyone tell me the purpose of this connector?

As far as i remember, that bolts to the fender, it's an RF choke for the Radio - but don't quote me on that.

The new who's in Chat right now thread?

More people. Seriously. I mean...flashchat used to WIN. Now it's full of tumbleweeds. :( I'll be in anyway, holding down the fort.

broken piston, do I need a new engine?

I wouldn't suggest doing something like that at home - you'd need it professionally welded, most likely a TIG setup, and grinding it back...again - you'd be better off leaving it to the professionals in the same machine shop. This might give you an idea of what that work may entail...

broken piston, do I need a new engine?

You could take this as an opportunity to swap in a 2JZ-GTE, it's not as though it's not been done, and you're going to have to spend out the money on a new engine anyway. However, a VVTi 2JZ-GE, that i can find, in canada, comes to around $1200 CAD, whereas a bone stock 2JZ-GTE is at least...

    removing egr

Okay guys - i'm closing this thread for two reasons 1) This thread was finished with back in June, and didn't need to be re-opened, the OP likely took the info presented and acted on it by now. 2) We're dragging the thread off on a tangent, and if you want to argue EGR/no-EGR all over...

    eliminate hac sensor

A more important question is...why bother deleting it, even if you don't use it? It's hardly an inconvenience to just leave it alone.

Ever wondered what a Torque Converter does? Watch this and get educated!

Just realised that this is just the fluid coupling, not the whole torque converter (torque converter has an extra bit that multiplies the torque), but still the basics are the same.

    A340E Basic Rebuild kit

That was the plan - have the offer of a low-mileage A340E from a GT Limited that i could replace my current one with, and use that as the basis for a refresh. A manual transmission i can understand, and doesn't look too complex. The auto? My brain hurts just trying to comprehend it sometimes :P

    A340E Basic Rebuild kit

The TSRM lists a lot of 'special tools' that look expensive...are we talking just massive snap ring pliers i can buy anywhere, or do i actually need a lot of these tools from Toyota themselves? As you're ASE certified, i'm guessing you've stripped and rebuilt at least one of these A340's - if...

Clutch/Clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder problems. HALP.

I would guess that its either a leaky slave cylinder, or the pipework/hoses have just perished - either way, it's not hard to replace, and these are the parts that cover the entire clutch hydraulic system. Clutch Master Cylinder = 31410-14201, cost $108.99 Clutch Master Cylinder to Firewall...
