My 90 had been sitting for over 7 years in a garage before I picked it up. When I took out the pump, saw all kinds of shit. Dropped the tank and gunk and rust just poured out... And since all that stuff was getting pumped, I swapped out the filter was well.

Ok, once again have a question. I have slight electrolysis on the bottom of the head still after the mill. I'll attach pics to show you. Is this anything to be concerned with when using a MHG?

^ That was implied, but not directly mentioned, and I completely agree. That's what I did on rebuild. I went all out completely disassembling the block and head. I've got pics and videos of my rebuild if you feel in over your head. Check it out, the link is in my signature. Feel free to ask any...
Yeah that big turbo is in my 91. The one I'm rebuilding right now is the 90. Two different Supras. And I'm thinking about trading the Probe GT for another one lol... The 90 is going to stay completely stock for the most part so I can have another reliable daily. The 91 is the powerhouse :)

If it was parked and not messed with as soon as the knocking occurred there is a better chance of no or slight Crankshaft damage. However if you've still been driving it, or starting it, or revving it up to diagnose it, more then likely it needs turned and you will need custom sized bearings...
Well, first I agree with them all 100%. And if it is rod knock, like it sounds like, yes you do need to repave your bearings. If you don't want to and just throw it back together, one way you can test is by removing spark plugs one at a time until the "knock" stops. If it stops, you have a knock...
Yours was just a stock size huh? I'll have to go down there tomorrow and see if they can get a 2.4mm... I'd go metal but I need to double check with the machine shop what their RA finish was. That and I need to get my timing cover to match because, yes, I forgot to mount it when I had it...
She slams you back in your seat :) Can't wait to finish the 90 so I can start rebuilding the 91. Just need ARP studs and a 2.4mm head gasket, and misc gaskets. Think that's it, of course something else will probably turn up with my luck. Hey Doat, where did you purchase your composite HG?

Finally discovered what size head gasket I need. I need one with a thickness of at least 2.4mm. Started a parts thread to help fund the rest of the project. I've got close to 50 items for sale so feel free to check it out everyone before the goodies are gone!

Thank you again IJ. I plan on keeping the 90 stock(my 91 is the powerhouse). So it is finally decided I guess lol. 2.4mm thickness with 84mm bore.
I'm going to start a for sale thread either today or tomorrow to help fund the rest of the needed parts/gaskets!
