    BHG job questions....

Okay, well I'll definately do it then. I just hate the idea of having to take crap back apart to retorque the head bolts. I don't remember for sure but is there enough room to get the intake cam cover off after you remove the throttle body or do you have to take off that first part of the...

    BHG job questions....

*smacks own back of head*... Okay so I did read the Fastener Retention Overview but I didn't look at the links on the left of the ARP site that talk about the actual process. So I did try okay. :) Thanks though. The ARP site definately looks like overkill though! So do you really have to...

Cold Air Intake, Or Short Ram

I know K&N makes a kit to change the end of the factory intake to an coned open air filter element but I'm not sure if that's what your looking for or if your wanting something "prettier" looking than the factory air intake.

    Front and Rear Shock replacement

What are some of the better struts you can get for these cars? I installed some KYB AGXs on a 240sx and those were great but I recently learned that they don't make them for our cars. So what's the next best thing on the market? I'd personally prefer an adustable dampening strut like the...

    Valve Cover Paint

I don't mean to stir up a problem, but I've painted several valve covers with great results. If you go to any autoparts store and get they're hight temperature engine enamel spray paint, this shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours tops. The link above is a good walkthrough. However wet sanding...

    BHG job questions....

So I priced a set of the ARP's for my car on Horsepowerfreaks.com . It didn't say anything about studs but the picture of the "head bolts" was a picture of studs so I guess that's right. I'm wondering though, how do the studs work as opposed to using bolts?

    BHG job questions....

Well I had decided against blowing $100+ on a set of ARP head bolts but I may have to rethink it if they are that much better. Lord knows I don't wanna ever be stuck in that situation again. Although, if I ever have another problem with the head gasket on this monster I probably will not dive...

    BHG job questions....

No I could get to it just fine. There were a few bolts the cam blocked but I put the sprockets back on and turned the camshaft when I needed to. Truth be told I don't know how I managed to get it to bite correctly other than it just being a straight up blessing. I don't care now though...

    BHG job questions....

Well I took the camshaft out, tried to see if I could get a T-60 torx to fit but it was way too big, so I ended up taking a 10mm hex bit, beat it in with a hammer good and hard, tried tightening it a bit to see if I could maybe currect the bolt a bit and realized it had dug in real well, so I...

    Distributor questions...

Okay so I'm wondering about something. When I used to have my 87 Conquest TSI, it was common for the springs inside the distributor to loose there... "springyness" after a while and you would lose a bit of throttle response. So usually people would either rebuild there distributor or simply...

    BHG job questions....

Well praise God, I got the rounded bolt out, took all remaining bolts out, and finally got the head to the machine shop! I'm extatic! I mean I've still got a LONG ways to go before it's back running, but atleast I'm at the half way point now. Now it just comes down to buying the stuff I need...

    googooflexy's Chevy V8 MKIII Build

Yeah but an open diff is something that can always be corrected later on down the road. I'm more interested in just figuring out a way to make it work. I have never done/attempted/seen such a feet so fabrication is out.

    googooflexy's Chevy V8 MKIII Build

Dude I've been kicking this idea around on more than one occasion lately. Have you found any good sources for build up/installation tips online? I haven't really found anything yet and yet I've talked to probably 5-6 different people around my town that say they've seen this done and...

    BHG job questions....

I will probably try some of these things simultaneously like the epoxy and an oversized torx/allan bit. I really don't think an allan bit will work at this point cause it's like perfectly round on the top now and the metal is all very soft.

    BHG job questions....

ROFL! You mean I might be the first?! WONDERFUL!!! I don't know that I've ever been the first to do anything this bad before. So a 7/16inch allan bit huh? Would a oversized Torx work better or should I try to stay with the 7/16 inch allan bit idea?

Seriously needing some advice on cams

It's pretty easy to change that cam. I would just try to find a junk yard car and snatch a cam out of it.

    BHG job questions....

Okay well the knock off JB Weld didn't work. That crap sucks. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy some Epoxy at work and try that in the next day or two. Epoxy or liquid JB Weld are my last hopes for fixing it myself unless the Lord shows me some miracle cure.

    BHG job questions....

Okay well today I rounded out a head bolt. I didn't clean the oil out of the tops of the head bolts cause I looked at a write up someone did on here and they seemed to have good luck without doing that. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the oil was creating so much hydraulic pressure it wasn't...

    Sounds supercharged!? Help!!!

Yes it will work the same. Mopars and Subarus also use ATF for the power steering and Dexron III works fine in them.
